1. Always make sure your hands are clean before touching your tattoo.
2. Take the bandage off in 30 minutes. You may leave it on for up to 2 hours. *If you are using the clear bandage, it stays on for 24 hours. The second skin bandage may fill will excess plasma blood ect, this is fine and may leak a little. If the clear bandage starts to slide off before 24 hours, it is OK to go ahead and take it off to continue the tattoo aftercare.
3. Wash the tattoo with very warm water and antibacterial soap in small circular motions with your finger tips. You want to wash all nasty off. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a clean paper towel.
4. Apply a thin coat of ointment. I recommend Aquaphor or Lubriderm Unscented. DO NOT USE ANYTHING ELSE, unless it specifically says tattoo aftercare. It is still better to use what the individual artist recommends. You want to use the smallest amount avoiding over saturation, just enough to moisturize. Using too much is no different than swimming so don't do that.
5. Repeat this 3-4 times a day.
6. Your tattoo should heal in 2-4 weeks. Never scratch or pick at it. If it starts to itch, lightly tap it with your hand.
7. Do not submerge your tattoo underwater for at least 2 weeks. This includes swimming and bathing in a tub or hot tub.
8. No direct sunlight for 30 days.
9. Please be careful about pets, dirt, sweat, germs, ect. This is an open wound and it is vulnerable to infection during the healing process. If you must be around something dirty, I recommend healing with the clear bandage if you are not allergic to it.**
